PECAN PRALINES
Ingredients:
- 1¾ cups sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- ¼ teaspoon maple flavoring
- 1 cup pecan halves
Cooking directions:
Melt ½ cup of sugar in frying pan over low heat. Stir constantly until sugar forms a pale yellow syrup. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Add salt, water and remaining sugar. Stir until caramel is dissolved. Add butter and cook to soft ball stage. Stir constantly. Remove from heat. Let cool about 5 minutes. Add maple flavoring and pecans. Stir until mixture becomes creamy. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
