• 1 cup shortening (any kind; cooking oil, lard, butter, etc.)
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans

Cooking directions:

Mix shortening with sugar until creamy. Add eggs and mix. Add soda, vanilla and flour. Mix thoroughly. Add pecans. Pinch off by little bits and drop on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 until done.
