CHEESE-PECAN WAFER
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Container of paprika
- 2-3 egg whites
- 2 tablespoons water
- 65 pecan halves
Cooking directions:
Cream butter, flour and cheese. Mix in salt, teaspoon of paprika and cayenne pepper. Divide dough in half. With hands, roll on wax paper until you have a roll “50 cent piece” size. Sprinkle paprika over each roll. Chill. Slice in ½ inch water pieces. Brush with egg white that has been mixed with water and slightly beaten. Add 1 pecan half on top of each water. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Do not over bake.
