Banana Nut Bread

 

Ingredients:

  • 5 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 3 cups flour 
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Cooking directions:

Mix first three ingredients together well. Then add vanilla and buttermilk. Sift and add the flour, sugar, soda, salt and nuts. Bake 325 degrees for 1 1/4 hours. Makes 2 loaves.
